Welcome Presentation and Transition Timeline

On behalf of the Kirk Balk Academy Senior Leadership Team, I would like to invite you to view the Class of 2030 Virtual Welcome Presentation in which our Transition lead and Assistant Principal Mr Jordan Gates will outline the Kirk Balk Academy Transition Timeline. This recorded presentation contains information regarding the dates of our Transition Days for students, our Transition Evening for parents and a whole range of other events and activities that form part of our enhanced transition offer at Kirk Balk Academy.

Choosing Your Child’s Friendship Group

In order to ensure your child’s smooth transition to Kirk Balk in September, we are giving each student the opportunity to choose three friends with whom they would like to be in a tutor group with. We will guarantee that your child will be in a tutor group with at-least ONE of the friends they choose. Please remember that tutor time lasts for only fifteen minutes of each day and we cannot guarantee that your child will be in any other lessons with this person.

Once you have completed this form, staff at Kirk Balk will use this data to place your child in their tutor group and they will not be able to change their mind prior to the start of the academic year in September. Please encourage your child to think carefully about who they write down and ensure that they would be happy in a pair with any of three children they have chosen to be placed in a tutor group with.
