Northern Education Trust Kirk Balk Academy delighted with GCSE results
Northern Education Trust Kirk Balk Academy is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by our students in their GCSEs and other qualifications this summer. In what has been another fantastic year, our students have achieved results significantly above the national average in all core subjects, and substantial improvements across the board. These results also represent a significant increase on last year allowing students to improve their life chances for our ‘Class of 2025.’
Following the recent OFSTED inspection in which Kirk Balk had maintained the judgement of ‘Good’ they noted that “Kirk Balk Academy is successful in its vision to be ‘outcomes focused, child centred’. There is a deep commitment to improving students’ life chances. The school’s high expectations, relentless drive to help students succeed and committed staff, ensures that students achieve well.”
Among the amazing results at Kirk Balk, there were some outstanding individual performances including: Holly H, Scarlett D, Lucy A, Harley B and Liam G who achieved a number of 9s across a range of subjects placing their grades amongst the best in the country.
After receiving her results, one student commented: “I am really proud of my results after working so hard to achieve them. My advice to any student is to work hard and the results will reflect this in the end.”
Another student who performed incredibly, said: “I am incredibly happy with my results. It now means I can go on to complete my A Levels and look at a future in business/finance. I would say to any student to take every opportunity given by school and to always stay confident and resilient.”
Principal Hayley Craddock said: “It has once again been a phenomenal year for our students here at Northern Education Trust Kirk Balk Academy. We are immensely proud of our amazing students and their incredible achievements. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, their families and all the teachers and staff of Kirk Balk Academy who have worked so hard to support the students. We wish the class of 2025 all the very best for their future and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve.”
Associate Senior Executive Principal Dean Buckley said: “We’re over the moon with these results, which are testimony to the vision of the trust to enhance the life chances of the young people in our care. Earlier this year, OFSTED recognised that “the school provides a positive environment for students to learn and develop” echoed by another superb set of results. My thanks and congratulations go to all students and staff for their incredible efforts. I remain incredibly proud of everyone who is associated with our great academy. My thanks also go to the parents, carers, governors and the trust board for their continued support – our students and staff couldn’t succeed without your help.”
On behalf of all staff at Northern Education Trust Kirk Balk Academy, we would like to say that we are immensely proud of every student for the work and effort that they have dedicated to their studies over the past five years. Whilst it is always difficult to see any cohort of students leave, we know that our students now have the tools to be successful in whatever their career paths may be. We would like to wish all of our students the best in the future – we will forever be proud of each and every one of the Class of 2025.
