New Entrances and Exits Update
In order to prepare our wonderful students for the next academic year, we have reviewed the school entrance and exit routes for all year groups. As such, we have made the decision to change the group entrances and exits from next week until the end of the term. This is to allow our current Y7 to transition into using the Boulevard as they will in September. The following changes will come into effect as of Monday 7th July;
Year 7
Current Year 7 students will now use the Boulevard to access the Academy site. Y7 students will no longer use the north entrance (this will be closed for the remainder of the half-term).
Y7 students will then make their way around to the Link entrance from the Boulevard via the Komplex gate. As Y7 students arrive in the morning, they will continue to use the same social space they use now (Assembly Hall). Students will also use this route to exit the building. The north entrance will no longer be accessible.
Year 8/Year 9
Current Y8 and Y9 students will use the Boulevard to access the Academy site. Students will enter the building via the fire exit adjacent to reception (this is currently used by Y10 students to enter and exit the building). Y8 and Y9 students will also use this route to exit the building. As Y8 students arrive in the morning, they will continue to use the same social spaces they use now (Lower Ground Floor). As Y9 students arrive in the morning, they will now have access to designated floor one classrooms which are supervised by members of staff.
Year 10 Students (New Year 11)
Current Y10 (new Y11) students will continue to use the Boulevard to access the Academy site. However, Y10 (new Y11) students will now make their way around to the canteen entrance (currently the Y9 entrance). Current Y10 (new Y11) students will now access the canteen as a social space when they arrive in the morning.
As ever, we will constantly focus on standards. We want all of our conversations with our students to be about their learning and never about the things that just ‘get in the way’. Please therefore continue to support us with this by ensuring that as ever, children are in the academy by 8.20am at the latest (in preparation for 8.25am which is the first lesson), wearing the correct academy uniform and prepared to learn. This includes having with them their school bag and all necessary equipment for the day, including their planner and Need to Know Book.
Please see the attached letter to a view a map of the changes.
