Kirk Balk are currently working with Esh Group who manage, coordinate and deliver the Building My Skills programme. This is a free yearlong employability programme which provides students in Year 9 with a rounded introduction to the world of work, imparting transferable skills through timetabled business engagement sessions

On Tuesday 16th December, Year 9 students will have the opportunity to complete the third of these checkpoints. Having already completed sessions on Budgeting and with Hatton Traffic Management; the third session focusses on how students can make themselves stand out to employers, particularly focussing on how to present themselves on paper.

During the year, all students receive 5 x 1 hour guidance sessions delivered by a different business guest who provides insight into their world of work, valuable employability skills, their career path and supports the completion of checkpoints – components of their ‘employability portfolio’.
